The Netflix format ‘Flinch’ is going to Russia
Netflix’s Jackass-style non-scripted format Nice to be converted into Russia’s CTC following an agreement reached with Sony Pictures Television. Produced by Sony-backed Stellify Media, the original show, which aired for one series in 2019, takes place on a remote farm in the hills of Ireland, where brave and foolish participants gather to test their nerve in three games that adhere to only one rule: “Do not brew.” If they give way, there are painful consequences, both for the participants and for the hosts Desiree Burch, Lloyd Griffiths and Seann Walsh. The Sony-backed Russian company LEAN-M will produce the adaptation, which will be hosted in a barn by Mikhail Galustyan, Artur Babich and Valya Karnaval under the name Do not stay back!
‘Man In The High Castle’ and ‘Medici’ Exec join Mopar
The man in the high castle and Medici Exec Sharon Remmer has been signed to lead the Scandinavian studio Mopar’s promotion in the English-language market. Remmer takes on the role of creative director, drama and must lead the manufacturer’s UK operation, while strategies for the growth of the company’s board, which include e.g. Viaplay drama Red choice. Remmer has an impressive list of British drama credits and has most recently set up his own company, SR Storyworks, which developed high-end drama with a focus on diversity and original voices. Mopar Exec producer William Diskay said she would “build on the foundation we have in place and will help lift and advance our growth plans, including our expansion into the UK market.”

Fremantle has sold Sky’s high-end fashion line The realm of dreams to HBO Max in Europe, LatAm, Asia and Canada and released the trailer for the upcoming Sky drama The king. Produced by McQueen indie Misfits Entertainment, The realm of dreams will be a visually dazzling chronicle of the fashion world that spans three decades – from the early 1990s to the 2010s: a golden age in which the forces behind groundbreaking creativity and disruptive companies converged and collided. Pre-sales gives the quartet a hefty worldwide audience, with the show already set to debut on Sky Documentaries in the UK, Ireland, Italy, Germany and Austria. In the meantime The king the trailer has been debuted with the Italian prison drama to be aired on Sky in about two months.
