New resorts in the Maldives in 2022

(CNN) – It is the ultimate escape for celebrities, honeymooners and families, all eager to relax in a picturesque paradise.

The Maldives sit quietly in the warm azure waters of the Indian Ocean, guaranteeing the whitest of white sandy beaches, pods of dolphins, dreamy sunsets and an unforgettable underwater world.

Fortunately, access has improved significantly since then, with resorts on atolls today stretching more than 500 miles of sea, from the north to the south of the country.

Scheduled to open in the first half of this year, Alila Kothaifaru Maldives will contain 80 villas by the beach and above the water – all with pools, natch – in another great location, Raa Atoll.

A major attraction is their house reefs, which abound with marine life, from elegant rays to multicolored corals. It will definitely make the resort a magnet for both snorkelers and divers.

Hypnotic sunrises and sunsets come as standard, while their dining options will include Japanese teppanyaki and yakitori, as well as secluded dining on a private sandbank for the ultimate in romance.

The first resort in the Maldives from Avani Hotels & Resorts is set to open in mid-2022 in Baa Atoll, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

Only 30 minutes by seaplane from Velana International Airport Avani + Fares Maldives Resort sits on an island surrounded by a lagoon in the western part of the reserve.

Unique and remarkable biodiversity can be found in its coral reefs, seagrass beds and mangroves. Watch out for beaked turtles, stingrays and friendly reef sharks.

Guests will be able to choose from 176 villas and studios with no fewer than six places to eat, drink and be impressed by these views.

Rate: From $ 650 per night for a one-bedroom studio with ocean views with breakfast.
