The latest update to Pokémon brilliant diamond and shiny pearl has gone live. Update Ver 1.1.2 not only fixes some bugs, it also removes the duplication bugs that allowed players to clone Pokémon.
Shortly after the game was launched, a duplication error was discovered that let players clone Pokémon one at a time and what rare item they had. Other errors, using the menu store, allowed players to duplicate many more Pokémon in one go. These exploits are now being patched out, it seems.
Nintendos update notes, which can be read below, are vague.
Ver. 1.1.2 (Released December 1, 2021)
- Fixed some issues that would prevent the game from evolving under certain circumstances.
- Some issues have also been fixed for more enjoyable play.
The first point mentioned in the notes seems to be according to Serebii‘s Joe Merrick, fixes “softlocks” in the game. This seems to mean that the error in Snowpoint City Gym, where it was possible for players to get stuck and unable to move, was corrected.
Not mentioned is the removal of the duplication errors, which has been confirmed by a number of YouTubers, including Confirm, Daedra PKMN, Blaines, and BridgeFour game, among other. These duplication errors, including the nursery, can no longer be triggered when the new software update is installed.
(There is also reports it is a mistake let the players get Shaymin early has also been removed.)
On Twitter, some in Pokémon Community warns each other so as not to update the game, and recommends that Auto-Save be turned off to “dupe while they can“Others regret that they inadvertently downloaded Ver. 1.1.2, longing for more time with the errors.
But those who choose not to update can not play Pokémon BDSP online. In the meantime, they are likely to benefit from the duplication exploits in what has been the latest chapter in Pokémon brilliant diamond and shiny pearl‘s wild roll out.
