New Westminster Police search for CCTV or dash cam video of possible suspect in luring children – BC News

Possible child enticing

New Westminster Police are appealing to the public for any CCTV or dash cam footage that could assist in an investigation into suspected child seduction.

The incident took place on November 21 at approximately 1 p.m. 5.30pm in the area near Sapperton Park and involved two boys walking home from the park.

Allegedly, as the boys passed a parked, brown minivan, a man left the van’s passenger seat. This man asked the boys if they would like to see a puppy inside his van. The boys ran away to tell a trusted adult what happened. The suspect is described as a Caucasian man, between 45 and 55 years old, with a medium build and a short beard.

“We ask everyone who lives or drives through the area to check if they have footage of the Sapperton Park area on Nov. 21 between 5 and 6:30 p.m., specifically of Sherbrooke Street and Father Street,” Sgt. . Sanajay Kumar.

“Investigators have approached local businesses in the area to obtain footage, and we invite the public to contribute any evidence they may have.”

Anyone with possible video recordings is asked to download it and call Const. Dynes at the New Westminster Police Department with reference to file number 21-18600.
