Job:

The University of Southern Maine’s Department of Exercise, Health, and Sport Sciences (EHSS) is seeking part-time faculty to
teach Biomechanics (SPM 390) for our upcoming Spring Semester that runs from January 18, 2022, to May 6, 2022. 

Biomechanics
(SPM 390) is a course that studies the evaluation, analysis, and application of anatomical and mechanical factors that influence human
movement. 

The Department of EHSS offers degrees in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, and Health Sciences. The
Department of EHSS offers undergraduate degrees in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Health Sciences (four tracks), and Recreation and
Leisure Studies. These programs enroll nearly 400 students and are accredited by CAATE (AT) and CAAHEP (ES) and provide a quality learning
environment through content-rich curricula, student-faculty interactions, and active learning experiences that emphasize the application of

Part-time faculty members are paid on a credit hour
basis based on prior college teaching experience. In addition, USM employees can use their USM Card to access the library, Cigna Employee
Assistance Plan, and fitness center (s). USM also offers part-time faculty the opportunity for development frequently through our
Center for Collaboration and Development (CCD) and the chance to get an online teaching certification and training through CTEL, in addition
to other developmental opportunities open to all staff throughout the year.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Exercise Science or related field. 
  • Teaching experience in higher education.
