Job Summary

Primary responsibility includes entering payroll data for the institution and processing the institutional payroll according to published schedules and guidelines.  Assist employees with all payroll inquiries. Maintain and update employee payroll records. Respond to departmental inquiries regarding payroll policies and procedures..

Responsibilities

Process Payrolls and Data Entry – 80
Primary responsibility includes entering payroll data for institution and processing the institutional payroll according to published schedules and guidelines. Ensuring data entry is complete and correct, through verification of entries. Ensure all Federal, State, and USG regulations are being followed.

Customer Service – 20
Counsel employees regarding payroll issues including deductions, annual and sick leave, time worked entries, and taxes. Respond to departmental inquiries regarding payroll policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required

Required Experience
One year of work related experience performing data entry.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Experience
Experience with ADP or Peoplesoft HCM Payroll Systems.  Experience in Higher Education environment.  Two plus years of payroll related experience.

Proposed Salary

$13.28 to $15.00 per hour

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledgeable with MS Office especially Excel.

SKILLS
Effective oral and written communication skills; effective organizational and time management skills.
