Person found on Christchurch property remains in critical condition in hospital

Police are investigating how a woman sustained critical damage to a property on the outskirts of Christchurch’s Port Hills.

Officers were still in the house on Port Hills Rd in the Heathcote Valley on Wednesday morning after emergency services were initially called shortly after noon Tuesday.

A woman was taken by ambulance to Christchurch Hospital around 1 p.m. 12.40, where she remains in critical condition.

A neighbor told earlier Stuff they saw an ambulance, a fire truck and about six police officers at the house Tuesday afternoon, but did not know what had happened.

They said a mother and three children lived on the property.
