Searchlight Pictures has released another trailer for their latest horror offering, Nathuset. Starring Rebecca Hall (Byen, Iron Man 3) at the head of a grieving widow trying to uncover the disturbing secrets of her deceased husband, Nathuset promises a nerve-wracking experience. The minute-long trailer does not reveal too much about the film, but contains lots of scary moments. Combining grief with supernatural horror, Nathuset promises to be a hard-hitting film that will haunt viewers long after the credits. You can check out the trailer below.
The official listing of the film, which was released along with the trailer, is as follows: “Reeling from the unexpected death of her husband, Beth (Rebecca Hall) is alone in the sea home he built for her. She tries as hard as she can to keep it together – but then comes nightmare. Disturbing visions of presence in the house calling to her, waving at her with a ghostly lure. Against the advice of her friends, she starts digging into her husband’s belongings and longs for answers. What she finds are secrets both strange and disturbing – a mystery she is determined to solve. “

It was reported that “the audience could be heard screaming outside the theater.” While the trailer seemed to indicate a slow-burning horror, “screaming” viewers suggest there is more to the film than it looks. Nathuset currently sitting with an 88% fresh rating on rotten tomatoes. The glowing reviews especially shower praise on Hall’s brilliant performance and Bruckner’s skilful execution.
