Rebelde Teaser Trailer gives us a first look at Elite Way School’s new and talented students

Class at Elite Way School is back in session because of the iconic telenovela Rebel restarts on Netflix. The first official teaser for the show was unveiled today during TUDUM, the streamer’s global fan event. It focuses on the new group of students, their style and most importantly their musical talent. Rebel will premiere on Netflix sometime in 2022.

For those who are not familiar with how big a deal this reboot is, here is a quick overview. Rebel, which ran from 2004 to 2006, is the Mexican adaptation of the Argentine telenovela Rebelde Way. Despite this relatively short playing time, the show premiered over 400 episodes across three seasons. Telenovelas are not that different from American soap operas. Rebel in particular, a group of seemingly different students coming together to form a band. The show continues to have a massive following waiting with bated breath to see how this new adaptation turns out — especially with a brand new cast (and a recurring favorite in the role of Elite Way Schools new principal). But who is not taken back immediately when they hear the familiar loads of the classic show’s theme song? iY soy Rebelde!
