Riri Williams is coming faster to MCU in Black Panther 2

Riri Williams is coming to MCU much faster than we realized.

In Marvel Comics, Riri Williams is considered the female version of Tony Stark and a sequel to him. We have long known that she would join MCU when the announcement that Dominique Thorne would play the role came at the end of 2020.

The announcement also came that she would headline the Disney + series, Ironheart. What we did not know at the time was how she would turn into the franchise. Now, we have an answer thanks to Chancellor Agard of Entertainment Weekly.

EW reported last week via a statement from Marvel CEO Kevin Feige that the tech genius would make his debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Although it is unclear how Riri gets into the story.

However, Full Circle Cinema’s Jacob Campbell may have given a clue. Outlet found footage from a social media user of scenes currently filming outside of MIT. The school is where Riri is going to go to university. It also appears that Thorne has only begun filming her role in the film.

The footage in the Full Circle Cinema article shows a car chase. The Marvel Network on Twitter reveals that the scene features Dora Milaje.

If MIT is in front and in the middle, maybe someone is after Riri. Shuri and Okoye will show up, according to Russ Milheim of MCU Direct.

Is it to replace Shuri as Wakandan Tech Genius?

Could Riri sit in on Shuri as Wakanda’s technologist? After all, the princess may end up being the new queen of Wakanda and the black panther. There has been speculation that T’Challa may die in the universe due to the death of Chadwick Boseman.

According to MCU Direct’s article linked above, Letitia Wright, Danai Gurira and Dominique Thorne made separate scenes. In short, they do not appear together in the recordings.

One of the scenes Thorne has reportedly filmed is her pulling of her phone. She also talks to a male student. However, there were no other descriptions. What’s more is that Wright is wearing a black cloak that hides her costume. From what MCU Direct says, this only happens to avoid a potential costume spill.

When she returns to Riri, she may temporarily become the technical guru for Wakanda. Shuri will probably be busy being Queen and the Black Panther. In essence, this would put her work on hold and become a bit of a hobby. Just do not tell her.
