As a Star Wars fan, it can be pretty hard to look at what the Marvel fan base gets in terms of project output; jealousy can sit quickly inside. But it is often easy to forget that in just a year or two, the galaxy far, far away will be just as fertile somewhere.
Although not a new season is coming off The Mandalorian this year, fans will instead enjoy it Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett, the first solo-focused post for fan-favorite bounty hunter. On top of that, both Andor and Obi-Won Kenobi is currently in production and will likely be released at some point next year.
While it will be a great experience to have Kenobi back in everyone’s lives, there’s one more show that’s likely to exceed this expectation: Ahsoka. The Mandalorian‘s second season marked the first live-action appearance of everyone’s favorite Clone wars Jedi, which was one of the many elements of the animated series that was brought into the fold.
There have been rumors that the show, led by Rosario Dawson, will see Ahsoka on a quest to find Ezra and Thrawn after the events that happened at the end of Star Wars Rebels.
Now, according to a new report, the former Jedi will bring a friendly face:
AHSOKA BRINGS SABINE WREN BACK
Hollywood Reporter stated that the upcoming ONEhsoka the show is currently looking for an actor to play opposite Rosario Dawson’s titular character in the role of Sabine Wren, the Mandalorian warrior introduced in Star Wars: Rebels.
No further information was given about the show or characters who joined it.
WELCOME BACK WREN
With how well received everyone Clone wars connections were in The Mandalorian‘s second season, along with Boba Fett’s homecoming, it’s no surprise that Lucasfilm wants to keep the train going. With how great a character Sabine Wren is, especially in relation to Ahsoka and her current journey, it seems like a no-brainer.
The possibility has been discussed before; even the original voice actress for the character has come out and says she would really love to play the character in live-action. Since Ezra and Thawn are reportedly already cast, it is likely that the casting news for all three characters could officially fall at the same time.
That Ahsoka series is the closest fans are going to get to a sequel of Star Wars Rebels as a proper sequel potentially was scrapped in favor of the Rosario Dawson-led show; Honestly, it seems like a good way to continue the characters’ stories in any case.
Although there will not be one Star Wars Rebels animated sequel, there is always The Bad Batch who just finished his first season and got a second season order. The show still has plenty of connections to Rebels, and it’s something that is likely to be explored in the coming seasons.
If the casting for Sabine Wren comes out sooner rather than later, fans might see the character debut in The Mandalorian‘s third season, which recently started production.
