Samsung Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 + Camera Specifications Leak

The camera specifications for Samsung’s Galaxy S22 and S22 + have now appeared online with the triple camera setup with a 50 MP main sensor in the lead.

Samsung upcoming Galaxy S22 and S22 + will reportedly have a triple camera setup on the back, led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor. The Galaxy S series is Samsung’s flagship smartphone series, which typically launches in the first half of each year. The next generation of S-Series devices is also expected to be launched in the first quarter of next year, with the range said to consist of Galaxy S22, S22 + and S22 Ultra. These will be the successors to the Galaxy S21 series launched earlier this year.

It is also expected that the Galaxy S22 series will be the only mainstream flagship smartphone series from Samsung in 2022, despite its foldable. This is because the company has reportedly decided to pull the plug on its Galaxy Note series, which has been an integral part of its portfolio since the launch of the original Galaxy Note back in 2011. Several leaks over the last couple of years months have suggested the same, with the Galaxy S22 Ultra also expected to take over as a Note replacement next year. It is expected to be the most premium model in the series and ships with a stylus in tow.

While many details about the upcoming Galaxy S22 series have apparently been revealed so far, the latest leak concerns the camera setups on the upcoming devices. According to tipster Isunivers, both the Galaxy S22 and S22 + will be delivered with the same triple-camera setup. The camera module will reportedly consist of a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide shooter and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. While Isunivers had previously claimed that the devices will come with a 10-megapixel selfie camera, this is the first time that the entire rear camera array is being tilted.

The Galaxy S22 will be smaller than its predecessor

To dive further into the details, the primary 50-megapixel camera will have a 1 / 1.57-inch sensor with 1.0 pixelsm pixels and an f / 1.8 aperture. The 10-megapixel camcorder, which will also offer 3x magnification like the iPhone 13 Pro Max, will have a 1 / 3.94-inch sensor and 1.0 pixelsm pixels with an f / 2.4 aperture. Finally, the 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera will have a 1 / 2.55-inch sensor with 1.4┬Ám pixels and an f / 2.2 aperture. On the front, the devices are said to have a 10-megapixel camera with 1 / 3.24-inch sensor size and an f / 2.2 aperture. The tweet says nothing about the Galaxy S22 Ultra, but previous leaks indicated that it will be delivered with a 108 MP primary sensor.

In the same tweet, Isunivers also shared the screen sizes of the two upcoming devices. While the Galaxy S22 will have a 6.06-inch screen size, the Galaxy S22 + will have a larger 6.55-inch screen. If this is correct, it will mean that the upcoming smartphones will have smaller screen panels compared to their predecessors. While the Galaxy S21 comes with a 6.2-inch screen, the S21 + comes with a 6.7-inch panel. Previous leaks suggested that the Galaxy S22 will likely have a 3,700 mAh battery, while the Galaxy S22 + will get a 4,500 mAh battery. Leaks have also indicated this Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and S22 + will have 45W fast charging, while S22 can be stuck with 25W charging support.
