After yesterday’s weather, we have a calmer day on tap for today. Sunshine will be out if it’s another one of those cool January days. Temperatures have been steadily declining since last night and now we are below freezing. The rain, snow and slush from yesterday are freezing, so be careful if black ice forms on damp surfaces from yesterday.
Now the temperatures are not going to dive down today. We cool until around sunrise and then flat through the afternoon. Expect temperatures to hang out in the upper 20s this afternoon, but with the wind it will feel like teenagers. The wind is not to harmful levels as it was yesterday morning, but will remain windy / windy as it was yesterday afternoon. But with colder temperatures today, the wind will have more bite.
The wind will be with us again tomorrow, but it is not a bitter wind. Temperatures are getting warmer, in the 40s, and the wind will be from the southwest instead of the cold northwest wind we have today.
Wednesday night and Thursday morning, however, we get a cold front landslide, and it may trigger a few rain and snow showers south of Boston. To begin with, a couple of spotted rain showers will move in around noon. It is not appreciable snow, which probably leaves a coating at best on the Cape. It moves offshore at noon.
