Selina Kyle Front and center in new look at Zoë Kravitz in Batman

Selina Kyle makes her comeback on the big screen Batman, and we are excited to see Zoë Kravitz take on the role. Manager Matt Reeves revealed a new image of the iconic character on Twitter just hours before the launch of the DC FanDome 2021. It comes a year after the first trailer dropped for the 2020 event. That trailer showed Bruce’s battles in his first few years as Dark Knight.

This movie marks the second time Zoë Kravitz plays the Selina Kyle version of Catwoman. The first was in the animated one LEGO Batman movie, where she had only a limited number of lines.

Batman will see Selina in the early days of her criminal career. This happens before she becomes the full-fledged antihero. We have seen other pictures of her as the film was basically photography and of course in the first trailer in a makeshift balaclava. Judging from the picture above, it seems that Kyle is undergoing a makeover as the film progresses. The reason we say this is one of the pictures we’ve seen has her with longer hair than she does in Matt’s tweet.

Moreover, from what has been said in the past, Batman will be based on the famous stories, The long Halloween, Ego, and Batman: Year one. What’s more, all the characters in the film would have their own semi-beginning, depending on the character.

Finally, this is an interesting thing to do for a movie about a character as well known as Batman. Normally, the story would begin with the origin and then jump on to several years later when the characters have already been established. Beginning in the second year of a superhero’s career is a ball-sewing move for any filmmaker to make. Although, we welcome it!
