“I think the last 18 months have made us all question what’s important to us,” Barnes said. “What our priorities are and what we want to spend our time giving given time and opportunity. This time I found a fruitful one to write music for lyrics that I have had to go through for a long time. ”
Barnes admits that “a few fake starts many years ago” to start a music career, but realized at the age of 40 that the time was not an ally.
“I kept thinking about an 80-year-old version of myself and hearing him regret that I never released my own music. It was a case of if not now … when? And it’s not strange when you broadcast music, it’s called a “release”, because that’s exactly how it feels. And now no one can ever remove the fact that I put my own music, which I am proud of, out into the world. ”
There are no plans for live concerts in the near future. “I have been working on Guillermo del Toro’s Horror Anthology, Curiosity, and I’m going back to season two of Shadow and legs, ” Said Barnes. “But I record some ‘live’ performances and hope it’s the next challenge for me … to sing these songs to a live audience. “
