Nidhhi Agerwal made his acting debut with Munna Michael, who also starred Tiger Shroff. The film did not impress the critics as well as the audience, nor did it do much business at the box office. Later, Nidhhi moved south and has starred in many successful Tamil and Telugu films. Well, during the release of Munna Michael, it was revealed that in Nidhhi’s contract, the creators had included a “no dating” clause. Now, after almost five years, the actress has opened up about it.
In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, when asked if she actually signed a ‘no dating’ clause in her contract, Nidhhi said: “I did. But it’s clear I’m not very good at reading contracts and sign them, as I explained to you before, but yes, I did. ”
When asked if she felt ‘unfair’ about it, she replied, “I just did not care. I was so glad I got a movie. I thought, ‘Wow, I’ve become a heroine.’ “I did not care about anything. For me, just the fact that I got my movie was everything.”
During a 2016 interview with Mid-Day, Munna Michael’s producer Viki Rajani had clarified why they got Nidhhi to sign a ‘no dating’ clause. He had stated, “Tiger is already a star while this is Nidhhi’s launch film. She’s a bright girl and we do not want her to be distracted. Sabbir (Khan, director) and I have seen a real potential in her, and it will do her good. ” When asked if it was sexist, the producer stated that the actress was not forced to sign the contract ‘with gunshots’.
When she talks about upcoming films of Nidhhi, the actress will be seen in films like Hari Hara Veera Mallu and Magizh Thirumeni’s next director.
