Crunchyroll has released a new trailer for the shonen anime Orient, which introduces the series’ new heroes.

The trailer focuses predominantly on the show’s two main characters and teases their individual personalities and goals. The main character of the new series is Musashi, a strong-willed teenager who idolizes the samurai of the era and is played by Yuma Uchida (Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, Jujutsu Kaisen). The second main character in the series, Kojiro Kanemaki, is the son of a samurai who is mocked by his hometown and is pronounced by Soma Saito (ODDTAXI, Suppose a child from Last Dungeon Boonies moved to a starting city). The anime adaptation of Shinobu Ohtaka’s shonen manga series is scheduled to premiere as part of the streaming company’s Winter 2022 lineup.

Uchida and Saito are joined by several other veteran voices, including Rie Takahashi (Muteking the Dancing Hero, Fate / Grand Order – Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia), Satoshi Hino (Irina: The Vampire Cosmonaut, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu and Yaiba), Hiro Shimono (Log Horizon: Destruction of the Round Table, Sleepy princess in Demon Castle) and Azumi Waki (I have been killing Slimer for 300 years and maximizing my level, My next life as a villain: All routes lead to doom!).

Orient is set in an alternate version of Japan’s Sengoku period, in which the land is ruled by demons. The story follows Musashi as he tries to confront the demons using his unique special power. The manga was first released in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine in May 2018 before it was transferred to Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine earlier this year.
