Shooting on the road: Person with a gun locked in the vehicle, issued shelter on the spot

COMMERCE CITY, Colorado (KDVR) – Several agencies respond to a person with a gun locked in a vehicle after an incident on the road led to gunshots.

The Adam’s County Sheriff’s Office said the incident is believed to stem from weather rage with several people fighting on the road. ACSO said a person pulled out a gun and then barricaded himself in a vehicle.

Deputies tweeted that they are assisting the Commerce City Police Department in an “active shooting” situation between E. 74th Avenue and E. 76th Avenue on Brighton Road. The traffic has been shut down and a shelter has been issued on site for people in the area.
