St. Edward’s students compete in the 2nd Street District Window Exhibition Contest

AUSTIN (KXAN) – The 2nd Street District launched its 11th annual Holiday Window Walk on Black Friday.

St. Edward’s University students tensed their design muscles by decorating window displays in participating stores.

People can go online and vote for their favorite. The winning students have a chance to win $ 8,000 in scholarships. It is a way to attract customers to the center and get students involved in the community.

Store employees love creativity.

“I would say it looks really nice, I really like the assembly line going on down there,” said Kiefer Sterzing, who works at Bonobos. “It is fun.”

The screens got lots of eyes on Black Friday.

The streets were full of shoppers and diners – like Patty Palmer and her grandson Oscar. They were especially impressed with the exhibit in the Yummi Joy candy store.

“It’s good. I love it down here,” Palmer said.

2nd Street District will announce the winner of the window show competition on December 17 via their social media channels.
