The sad rumor has become an unfortunate reality:
Tayshia Adams and Zac Clark have terminated their engagement.
The talk of serious problems between the former Bachelorette and her chosen suitor first appeared a few days ago.
However, initial reports only indicated that Adams and Clark were on hiatus.
Now, however, several outlets have confirmed that this is not just a break. It’s a break … up.
The current Bachelorette co-host and her now former fiancé are “no longer a couple,” Tayshia’s representative has told E! News.
The split comes less than a year after the couple got engaged on The Bachelorette and just two weeks after they ran the New York City marathon together.
Zac proposed to Tayshia during the show’s finale, which aired in December 2020, after Adams took over as league leader that season for Clare Crawley.
“I can not imagine another day, another moment without you in my life,” Clark said to Adams in the air.
“And if you will let me, I will choose you right now. I will choose you early tomorrow.
“I will choose you next week and next year. I will choose you forever because I love you. Marry me.”
Adams, of course, responded at the time with an emotional and enthusiastic Yes.
So … where did such a fairytale romance go wrong?
“Things have been strained through the fall. Both of their schedules have been really tough,” a People Magazine source said of Adams, adding:
“Tayshia has been very busy, and Zac also has a lot on his plate.
“Planning time together was just very difficult.”
Adams has, of course, co-hosted the final two seasons of The Bachelorette, as quoted above, while Clark works as a co-founder of Release Recovery, an addiction treatment center and transitional housing.
“She’s also a lot more comfortable in the spotlight because of her job, and he’s a lot smaller,” the People insider continues.
“In the end, they are very different people. They are both good people – she is amazing and he is a great guy and very passionate about his work.
“But they are a total mismatch.”
But maybe not the whole story either.
According to The Sun, Adams broke off her engagement – and she did so after a major altercation recently.
“They fought a lot, and this one was bad like some of the others, but it happened to be the fight that broke the camel’s back,” this publication claims.
“Their fights would start small, but thread up and explode.”
What led to this ugly back and forth?
“She has asked him to work on the controlling aspect of herself, but it has only gotten worse as their relationship continued,” The Sun claims.
Concluded this source:
“The more her career took off, the more controlling he would be. He did not hate having her around most of the time when she was primarily in Los Angeles or traveling to film.
“It was as if they were living two separate lives. It seemed like he was jealous of her too, and a lot of new opportunities opened up for her while he remained in her shadow.
“He was not confident enough to handle her success.”
It is worth noting that neither Adams nor Clark have commented on their breakup.
We wish both sides the best in the future.
