WASHINGTON – U.S. car safety regulators revealed Friday that they are investigating a fatal crash on July 26 in New York with a Tesla that may have used an advanced driver assistance system.
In July more reported media a 52-year-old man who fixed a flat tire on the Long Island Expressway in New York was killed when he was hit by a Tesla.
A spokesman for an agency told Reuters on Friday that the agency was aware of “the incident on July 26, in which a Tesla vehicle involved on the Long Island Expressway in New York, and has launched a special crash investigation team to investigate the crash.”
The agency’s investigation into the crash in New York has not previously been reported.
