Skiers and snowboarders traveling with loved ones will find plenty to do at two ski resorts in Vermont and New Hampshire, according to Frommer’s.

  • Killington now lets skiers pay more to skip the lift queues. Not everyone is a fan.

Stowe Mountain Resort in Vermont and Waterville Valley Resort in New Hampshire was recently named among eight family-friendly ski resorts nationwide with fun activities for non-skiers of the travel publication.

“An exciting way to enjoy the winter with your kids is by taking the whole family to a snow-capped mountain resort,” Frommer’s wrote. “But when there are non-skiers and non-snowboarders in your group, you want to choose a place where the off-piste attractions compete with the downhill pleasures.”

At Stowe Mountain Resort, “a picturesque New England town,” non-skiers can skate on the Spruce Peaks outdoor ice rink, cross-country ski or attend a play, concert or movie at the Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center, Frommer’s wrote.

At New Hampshire’s Waterville Valley Resort, it’s easy for the whole family to find something to do because “lodging, restaurants, shops, an ice rink and Adventure Center all gather around Town Square,” according to the publication. The adventure center offers visitors equipment for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and fat biking. The nearby Woodstock also offers the popular winter attraction Isslotte, opening in January 2022.
