Tool debuts ‘Culling Voices’ in Sacramento

Watch Tool reveals the cut ‘Fear Inoculum’.

Tool continued their 2022 tour of the Sacramento Golden 1 Center on Saturday night. Vocalist Maynard James Keenan and company revealed “Culling Voices” under the extra track with three songs.

Maynard, guitarist Adam Jones, bassist Chancellor Justin and drummer Danny Carey opened the show with the title track to their 2019 album Fear vaccine substance ahead of the classic “Opiate”, which made the band wish Jones a happy birthday when the guitarist turned 57 yesterday. Follow 10,000 days’ (2006) “The Pot”, Tool performed “Pushit” from the 1996s Ænima.

Fear Inoculum’s “Pneuma” came next before the band’s 2001 album Lateralus was represented by “The Grudge”. 10,000 days’ “Right in two” and Fear Inoculum’s “Descending” followed before the quartet closed out the headset Ænima the number “Hooker With A Penis”.

Tool then dedicated the entire encore to three more songs Fear vaccine substance beginning with “Chocolate Chip Trip” prior to the aforementioned debut of “Culling Voices”, which began with the entire band sitting at the front of the stage including Carey on guitar as Maynard led the band through the introductory verses. Tool then took their usual positions for the heavier ending of “Culling Voices” before ending the show with “Invincible.”
