Truck drivers are being asked to stop in Kamloops to wait to be notified when Highway 3 may reopen.

DriveBC issued a travel guide Friday and asked drivers to stay in Kamloops “to prevent excessive congestion in Merritt.”

Highway 3 is closed between Princeton and Hope. The highway has been the only domestic connection for commercial trucks to move between the lower mainland and the interior, since historic flooding last week paralyzed BC’s highway infrastructure.
