Wheel Of Time Episode 4 is lying to you about The Dragon Reborn

Wheel of Time uses a lot of debugging and a shocking final twist to make [SPOILER] look like Dragon Reborn, though it will not be them.

Warning: This article contains spoilers for The wheel of time season 1, episode 4, and will also reveal the identity of Dragon Reborn in The wheel of time books.

Wheel of Time uses a lot of bug fixes and a shocking final twist to make Nynaeve (Zoë Robbins) look like Dragon Reborn. Although she was not one of the four original four candidates in The wheel of time series premiere, the show strongly suggests that the wisdom of the two rivers is the person that Moiraine (Rosamund Pike) and Lan (Daniel Henney) have been looking for all along. Nynaeve’s power level off the chart and Logain’s reaction to seeing her are the reasons why it may seem like she’s the series’ version of Dragon Reborn.

Wheel of Time season 1, end of episode 4, Nynaeve pushes into the middle of the Dragon Reborn mystery. Since it is possible that the dragon can be reincarnated as a woman in Amazon’s adaptation, the suspicion that Nynaeve or Egwene (Madeleine Madden) is Dragon Reborn is not unfounded, meaning that Rand (Josha Stradowksi), Perrin (Marcus Rutherford) and Mat (Barney Harris) are not the only suspects. What diverted attention from all of them in episode 4 is the scene where Nynaeve showered all of Aes Sedai and Warders around him with the One Force, and healed them instantly. Logain (Álvaro Morte), who remembers what Moiraine had told him, seems to believe that Nynaeve may be the real Dragon Reborn.

Despite The wheel of time episode 4’s big twist, the mystery has not been solved. The show has currently focused on Nynaeve, but her level of power does not prove that she is Dragon Reborn. First of all, Nynaeve is incredibly powerful in Robert Jordans The wheel of time books so she is stronger than the other Aes Sedai is impressive but no more. In the books, both she and Egwene have an enormous natural talent with the One Power, which is probably why Nynaeve is able to perform that feat in the cave.

As Lan points out, it can not be forgotten that Zoë Robbins’ character is too old to be the right one. They have previously narrowed it down to Rand, Mat, Perrin and Egwene because of their age, which sets Nynaeve apart from the rest of them. Moiraine first asks about her, but seems to eliminate her as an option when she finds out that Nynaeve is 25 instead of 20.

It’s likely that the purpose of the show’s major Nynaeve revelation – as well as the talk that Mat may have one power – in Wheel of Time Episode 4 is to keep viewers guessing and distracting them from Rand, who is Dragon Reborn in Jordan’s beloved books, and who is usually also expected to be revealed as the show’s response to the prophecy. By this time in the book version of the story, Rand, who is the reborn dragon, had already been set up through teasing about his secret backstory. By exploring the possibility that a woman is Dragon Reborn, directly avoiding questions about Rand’s birth, and highlighting Nynave’s level of power, the show was able to find success in keeping Dragon Reborn’s true identity a lasting mystery.
