HOLBROOK, NY – Gabrielle “Gabby” Petito will be honored Sunday during a public service on Long Island.

The 22-year-old’s father said people can pay respect between 12 and 5pm at Moloney’s Funeral Home in Holbrook. A livestream of the service has been provided by the funeral home in the video player below.

Petito was born and raised on Long Island. Her family lives in Blue Point.

Instead of flowers, her family has asked for donations that go to one foundation they plan to create in Petito’s name. Donations can be made online at https://Johnnymacfoundation.org.

Petito var reported missing by her parents on September 11 after she did not respond to calls and text messages for several days while she and her fiancé Brian Laundrie, 23, was on a cross-country camping trip out west.

After the missing persons report was filed, police discovered that Laundrie had returned to her parents’ home in North Port, Florida, alone in the van on September 1st. He later became one person of interest after he refused to cooperate with investigators.

On Sept. 17, Laundrie’s parents told investigators they had not seen their son since Sept. 14. Police continued to search for him Sunday as Petito’s family was ready to put her to rest.

Petitos corpse was found in a remote area of Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming on September 19th. Her death was considered a homicide, meaning it was caused by another person. How she was killed was not disclosed by the doctor, pending further autopsy results.

Law enforcement officials has since issued an arrest warrant for Laundrie. He allegedly used a debit card and PIN to purchase items worth more than $ 1,000 between August 30 and September 1, according to the indictment.

His family’s lawyer noted that the arrest warrant is not for Petito’s death.

“While this arrest warrant allows law enforcement to arrest Mr. Laundrie, the FBI and our partners throughout the country continue to investigate the facts and circumstances of Petito’s killing,” the FBI said.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
