A big question people generally have about Emily and Paris on Netflix is. . . Why has the show not already been canceled? It has received a lot of hatred & backlash, but the series has stood the test of time, and Emily and Paris has been renewed for another upcoming season for a reason.
There are also a lot of people out there who absolutely love the show! Lily Collins is the amazing young actress who plays the lead role in the show, and after seeing her do her part in season 1, fans are crossing their fingers that season 2 will be a little less cliché and a little more honorable to Paris culture.
Emily and Paris season 2 cast
We see the cast in season 2 of Emily and Paris on Netflix will be a direct reflection of what we saw in season 1. Lily Collins returns as Emily and takes her way through Paris one day at a time. Emily’s character tries new food, tries new dresses, goes on dates with a multitude of people and does everything to live her best life.
She sometimes comes the wrong way and rubs the viewers a little wrong, yet there is still something very loving about Emily. Critics were very harsh with the first season because they felt that French culture was not portrayed in the right way.
None of that, however, has anything to do with Collins as she continues to play the role of Emily. It is not the case that she is the one writing the manuscripts. Other cast we will see return include Lucas Bravo as Gabriel, Camille Razat as Camille and Ashley Park as Mindy Chen.
What will season 2 be about?
According to the official season to logline for Emily and Paris on Netflix there is going to be very intense drama to watch unfold. It reads: “Now that she is more rooted in her life in Paris, Emily is getting better at navigating the city, but still struggling with the peculiarities of French life”.
It continues, “After falling into a love triangle with her neighbor and her first real French friend, Emily is determined to focus on her work – which is getting more complicated every day. In French class, she needs a colleague Expat who both irritates and fascinates her ”.
The first season left us with a big cliffhanger about the love triangle mentioned in the official logline. It’s good news that they’ll be tackling the messy love triangle drama in season 2, because it’s the biggest story fans are holding their breath.
How Lily Collins is doing with the show
After the first season of Emily and Paris received a lot of backlash all the time, Lily Collins did not respond to the negatives with a sense of defeat. She told Vogue Arabia, “As discouraging as it is sometimes to read these things, it is also a gift; you are allowed to improve ”. She is absolutely right in seeing things through such a positive lens.
Instead of considering the show as a failure that deserves to be canceled, the writers know what they can do to improve going forward in the future so that the same mistakes are not made. Enough people were charmed by the first season anyway, which means it can only move upwards from here.
What to look for in season 2
Season 2 of Emily and Paris will, of course, spend a lot of time covering the romantic scenario Emily got entangled in, as well as the difficult business situation she has to face in the workplace.
One thing we know for sure that will be included in season 2 is the unlimited beautiful fashion and trendy outfits. Season 1 never missed a beat when it came to Emily’s amazing clothes, and the second season she will follow that pattern.
