Police have arrested another woman over the incident, after being called to a block of units on Brooklyn Terrace just after noon.
The 45-year-old victim was found at the scene with a stab wound to the leg.
She was treated on the spot and has been taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
“She is currently in critical condition,” police said.
Her alleged attacker, a 26-year-old from Christie Downs, has been arrested.
She has been questioned by police and “will be charged later tomorrow,” police said.
The incident was not accidental and the two women are known to each other, police said.
Police have asked anyone with information that could help their investigation to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Meanwhile, a man and a woman from Victoria have both been charged after an overnight burglary at a hairdressing salon in Warradale.
Police responded to an alarm in the salon on Diagonal Road just before 2:30 p.m.
“CCTV caught two people at the scene, who were then seen leaving in a silver-colored SUV,” police said.
The vehicle was tracked to North Brighton, but a pursuit was terminated for safety reasons, police said.
The SUV was soon discovered turning into Raymond Grove, a dead end road.
When it backed up, it hit a police car and a parked car as well as a caravan, which sustained significant damage.
No one was injured and a 30-year-old man and 23-year-old woman, both from Victoria, were charged with aggravated criminal intrusion and theft.
The man was also charged with acts of endangering life and driving to avoid a police pursuit.
They are expected to appear in Christies Beach Magistrates Court.
