What would you do if you just enjoyed a recreational skate down on your local hockey rink when suddenly a significant explosion happened down a nearby hallway? Well, it happened this weekend in Kentucky.

While a number of skaters were present, there was an explosion at the Lexington Ice Center Saturday night, close to one of their ice cushions. You can watch video of the incident here.

David Christopher, one of the owners of the skating rink, told WKYT on Sunday that it was caused by a propane leak as employees were about to replace the tank on the Zamboni machine. Fortunately, no damage was done and no one was injured in the explosion.

The Lexington Ice Center has had an accident recently as this is not the only disaster that has taken place under its roof in the last six months.

In July 2021, a massive fire severely damaged the second skating rink in the center, forcing an extensive reconstruction to take place. Despite the flame making the skating rink useless, no one was injured.

Maybe the hockey gods just really do not like any kind of ice cream found in Kentucky.
